Pros
Outstanding product. I am a veteran linux user and that is one of the reasons I bought this laptop. I started to get the eeepc 901 but once I learned about these from acer I held out and waited on it. I used the default distro for a few days and it is ok but limited. I then installed Arch which I planned on doing even before I placed my order. System is fast, light, and an attention getter

Cons The only con is you have to dissamble the laptop to updrade the memory. I have two of these and I have updgraded one of them and its not a big deal but could have been alot simpler if they simply put a door for it on the back of the unit. That being said, the one that I use every day only has the stock 512 MB of memory. Its really all you need

Pros Small, but efficent use of space. It feels light, but also strong. This makes for a perfect laptop for travelers that don't need anything too powerful. 2lbs and small, it will allow you to bring this almost anywhere. Not useful as a main computer or laptop, but for people wanting to save space and weight on the go this is great. Price is great too

Cons There are many versions of the Aspire one out there. There are white, blue, brown, and pink versions with the option for a 120GB hdd, 1 GB of RAM, and XP pre-installed. It is not as if Acer hasn't started shipping them yet, but Newegg fails to stock them. You can buy the highend models of the blue and white models in the UK via play.com. but they don't ship (to my knowledge) to the US. Heck, Id take a 1GB/120GB/Blue/Linux Aspire one even if Newegg charged $40+ more than the retail of $420-430 for that model. I am really excited about this netbook, but Newegg and US suppliers fail to realize the profit potential in offering the slightly more expensive (yet amazingly better) device.
Other Thoughts: I am having trouble deciding on this (base-line white) Aspire One or the Black MSI Wind. I need a netbook to stay connected with the internet while I'm off in Japan (using Skype for VOIP instead of expensive phone calls) in a few months. I carry a macbook around on a daily basis on my back, and that gets tiring. I'd rather just get a better equipped Aspire one in the blue color. White is hideous with that white keyboard.
