HP Compaq 6715b AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60(2.00GHz)

15.4" Wide SXGA+ 1GB Memory DDR2 667 160GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Radeon X1250 IGP

Fairly light, 15.4"" screen. HP knows where the keys go. Choice of OS. Came with XP (!), but 5 dvds included. Yea!. For XP, Vista, and Vista Business, XP Drivers, Vista Drivers. the AMD Dual Core and 1Gig runs Vista just fine for Office, Web, Email which is what I wanted. Web is fast and flawless so far. Best thing is you can CHOOSE your OS from DVD's. Instructions said make dvd backups, but since dvd were in the box,

no need (more saved time. Yea.) Another benefit to the install from scratch is, the driver disk allows you to CHOOSSE what junky offers, trials etc. you want. I chose none (the default) and was fine. So no hour deleting all the trials. Nice package. Under described by Newegg and HP. But all in all, nice. Wireless easy to setup after driver install. Laptop arrived in one day (like overnight, cuz it was close). Thanks newegg. Also, note it has fireware, an SD slot built in, and finger print reader. Speakers in front sound great for a laptop. Docking socket included too

At first it was confusing to bill it as Vista Busiess and then see it boot to XP right out of the box. (Great convenience if you WANT XP though). However, installing Vista by booting the Vista DVD and later loading Vista Drivers, all was fine, flawless, even better than prepackaged with all the trial-ware

Other Thoughts
Several hints: 1) If yours comes with XP, and you want/need vista just install fresh from DVD. 2) When reinstalling it shows 2 partitions. 42G and 100G or so. Odd. I deleted the small partition, then chose the entire disk so that I have it all. After install the resolution was only 1024x768 and no wireless. Just put in the Vista drives disk, take the default install and all is well. 3) When XP came up, I called HP Support. They were very helpful (unlike some other's experience). Answered in under 5 min, transfered me once, under 3 min. I described the XP/Vista confusion. She offered MY CHOICE: have them ship me dvd's, have them ship me a complete replacement laptop and return original. Wow. I realized I already HAD the dvd's (in box) so did not need anything as they verified just install Vista from scratch from DVD
